Environment: (Note : Seems to be irrelevant but here it is.) Windows 10 64-bit Java 8 U.131 64-bit Confirmation Status: Unconfirmed Description Before addressing the problem directly : I have searched around, and it seems to me that the problem lies on the downloads server, not permitting download, or perhaps the file that was supposed to be downloaded was non-existent.
Hi, i'm trying to play in minecraft 1.5.2, this issue came up when i used Technic Launcher to launch minecraft in 1.5.2 . I have absolutely no sounds whatsoever from the vanilla minecraft, only modded sounds work, such as custom sounds for custom mod blocks added in by said mods. I run tests with all available alternatives of launching VANILLA 1.5.2 in Windows (The Native launcher, the Java Launcher, and even did some digging up on the super-old original launcher, before the current java one.) All 1.5.2 versions have no sounds. no clicking sounds, no ambient, sounds nothing.
Minecraft Resources Folder Download 1.5.2
I have not done any tests with older / newer versions, but this issue seems to be unrelated to the 1.6.x problem of the launcher incorrectly placing sound files. I checked the resources\sound3(FOLDERS GOES HERE), and all the folders are EMPTY. So again, problem seems to be that the launcher fails to download sound files for whatever reason whose answer i am trying to get here.
I have a problem and it is that I didn't get a bin folder for minecraft 1.5.2! Now I can't play with any mods as I cannot install forge! I have read that from Minecraft 1.6 onwards the bin folder is no longer used but in 1.5.2 and below, it is needed for modding. So what happend to my bin for 1.5.2? I'm using the latest minecraft launcher downloaded from minecraft.net.Can someone help me?
I decided to play Tekkit Classic, but it had no sounds at all except MAtmos sounds.I read that the launcher doesn't download old sounds or something etc, but I see some Tekkit Classic servers that got players and I don't really think they are playing there without any sounds. Does anyone have a fix for the sounds by any chance? I'd really like to play Tekkit Classic again. I actually tried a really old launcher to try 1.5.2, but I didn't have any sound either so I thought maybe it could be my PC? But I don't really want to believe that as MAtmos sounds work just the game sounds don't work. I'm on Windows 10 if that's a necessary. Any help would be appreciated...
OK, I read on another forum that someone had exactly the same problem, but someone gave him the sound files and when he put them in the resources folder the sounds started to work. I googled and found a video of someone giving a link to a modded .minecraft 1.2.5 folder so I decided to download it and pull the resources files out and put them in tekkit resources folder and now the sounds work.
Whereabouts in the resource folder did you put it? within another folder in resources, or literally just in the folder itself? I put it straight in the resources folder and it hasn't worked. do you need to extract the file too, or can you leave it as a ZIP?
This worked for me. I had to go into the sound folder on the Tekkit classic and delete the folders that were in there and replace them with the sound files that were downloaded. Thanks for the link!!!
.minecraft (or simply minecraft in macOS) is the folder Minecraft: Java Edition creates to run from. This folder includes the .jar files, sound, music, resource packs, personal options, worlds, etc.
Use of a resource pack can be forced by naming its zip file to resources.zip and placing it in the root folder of the world save.[1] This feature is single-player only;[2] however, there is another way for servers to ask or force clients to use the server resource pack.
Resource Loader is used usually in conjunction with mods Custom Main Menu and Custom Backgrounds. This mod primarily allows users to add their own resources into the game.to Use mod Resource Loader to be surprisingly easy. After starting the game, you will find in the directory %appdata%/roaming/.minecraft new folder resources. Now you do not need to create archives with all, is sufficient to move the desired texture in the folder resourcesIf you want to use mod Resource Loader and use resource collections, you should create an additional folder oresources in the directory .minecraft. All the textures that you move to this folder will be sementini.
The new minecraft client does not create a bin folder anymore, they now have everything in .minecraft/versions. I am confused now because every tutorial on how to install FML with 1.5.2 says you have to go to bin folder and do some stuff to the .jar file. So now with the new location, I do that there and it does not work the same as how mojang used to have the files set up. I do no think it is possible atm to use the original 1.5.2 mod loader anymore. I think it needs to have a actual fml installer for 1.5.2 like it does for 1.6.2.
If someone can download a brand new fresh copy, and try get fml working for 1.5.2 and tell me how. This would make my day so much. Everyone that asked about no bin folder, they either say, re download it. but they don't install the files the same anymore. so that wont fix. and nobody has put up a solution yet..
Since the 1.6.2 Update, the file construction for the .minecraft folder is different and most likely all other fml version do no work. Would it be possible to make an installer version like 1.6.2 fml which is so much more user friendly and quick to use.
There are instructions out there on how to copy the version folder and edit the jar. Think of the version folder as the old bin folder with some extra stff. After I get home I was gunna take a look into making a 1.5.2 installer but remember we don't officially support older versions
NOTE: You NEED Optifine 1.16.5 to play this map! If you play this on a server, each player will have to put the resources.zip folder into their resourcepacks folder individually! =OptiFine_1.16.5_HD_U_G8.jar 2ff7e9595c
